JANUARY READS: BOOKS TO LOOK FORWARD TO IN 2025!

Who doesn’t need something to look forward to in January?

As a semi-regular reader, I like to browse all the book launches that are scheduled to take place over the year. I like to see what my favourite authors have planned, if a series is getting a new addition, and to see if something new sparks an interest.

Here are three of the books I’m most looking forward to in 2025:

Onyx Storm – Rebecca Yarros (January 2025)

This is the third book in a fantasy series following a group of dragon riders. I read the first book in this series (Fourth Wing) in 2024 after seeing and hearing a lot of great things about it. This was the first fantasy book I’ve read and while I never thought it would be for me… I loved it and I can’t wait to read the next installment.

With a Vengeance – Riley Sager (June 2025)

Mysteries and thrillers are definitely my go to genre and Riley Sager is quickly becoming one of my favourite authors in this category. This book takes place in the 1950s where the main character seeks revenge against those responsible for her family’s demise when something goes wrong, and she is forced to work with and protect those she hates the most.

The Eights – Joanna Miller (April 2025)

Aside from mysteries and thrillers, I also read a fair amount of historical fiction novels. Many of which tend to follow women’s involvement in the French resistance during World War II. This novel is similar, but different – set following the end of World War I and following the story of four women at Oxford University in 1920 (its first year accepting female students), I’m excited to look at this period from a new perspective.
