ALEX MCLEOD

Principal Lawyer, Family Law Team Leader

CALLED TO THE BAR: 2008 (Ontario)
TEAM MEMBER SINCE: 2021

Alex is a confident litigator with a tremendous passion for the law. His experience in the areas of both family law and criminal law allows Alex to assist his clients with confidence, while also maintaining a common sense approach when working towards potential resolution.

Alex spent the first thirteen years of practice in a partnership and then running his own firm.  Alex has spent his entire life in the City of Kawartha Lakes where he and his wife, Jennifer, and their three children continue to reside.

Alex’s practice focusses principally on Family Law and Criminal Law where he has significant experience in resolution based and litigious files. His services to clients include negotiating/litigating parenting and financial issues.  On the criminal side of his practice, Alex is experienced in trial work while also considering resolution where possible.  Alex also practiced as a Federal Crown Attorney for seven years, which has allowed him to review criminal matters from all perspectives.

Alex has volunteered and continues to volunteer in the local sports, arts and vulnerable sector communities.  He believes that giving back and supporting the community that he grew up in is incredibly important.

Family is the most important thing to Alex and when he’s not involved with his law practice he can be found playing recreational sports and enjoying the outdoors.
