CALLED TO THE BAR: 2002 (Ontario)
TEAM MEMBER SINCE: 2015
Monique pursues claims for compensation for personal injury victims and their families, as well as other insurance and litigation matters. She represent clients in complex situations, focusing on accessing benefits and coordination of rehabilitation to assist with physical, psychological and financial recovery.
Monique has been a litigation lawyer for over 20 years. She practised in the area of insurance defence with a boutique litigation firm in Toronto, before relocating to Lindsay in 2012 when she made the change to plaintiff work. The insight she gained representing insurance companies has allowed her to effectively pursue personal injury claims on behalf of victims and their families.
Monique’s practice at WARDS LAWYERS PC focuses primarily on representing persons injured in motor vehicle collisions, slip/trip and fall injuries, wrongful death and other injury claims. She also represents clients in disputes with their own insurance company, including for long-term disability benefits and Statutory Accident Benefits through the motor vehicle insurance system.
Monique enjoys the practice of law in a small-town environment, yet with clients in a large geographical area. She works with a team of occupational therapists, physiotherapists, psychologists and other specialists in order for her clients to receive necessary rehabilitation and therapy.
Monique has always been a people person, wanting to help, negotiate and find solutions to problems. Her goal is to allow clients to focus on their rehabilitation and to obtain compensation that they deserve. She enjoys assisting clients and their families as they progress and rebuild their lives.
Monique is a member of the Law Society of Ontario, Ontario Trial Lawyers Association, Victoria-Haliburton Law Association and Durham Region Law Association.
In her free time, Monique’s focus is on family and friends.
