Throughout our website, you’ll notice a custom illustration woven throughout.
It’s a piece we collaborated on with local artist Laura Butler, created to reflect our deep roots and connection to the community we serve. Her work captures the character, relationships, and everyday moments that shape this region.
About the artist
Laura Butler

Laura Butler is a multidisciplinary artist raised in the Kawartha Lakes and currently based in Toronto. She graduated from Western University in 2021 with an Honours Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts and a certificate in Museum and Curatorial Studies. Her creative and research practice investigates human relationships with plants and the environment, with more recent work exploring themes of domesticity and keepsakes.
In 2023, Laura presented her first solo exhibition, Sincerely, Plants, at the Kawartha Art Gallery, where she also led a flower-pounding workshop and delivered a public artist talk. Most recently, she was awarded a 3-month artist residency at the Gladstone Hotel in downtown Toronto, where she also exhibited her crochet tapestry Family Photograph as part of the exhibition It Starts With a Photograph.
