Why I work at WARDS LAWYERS PC

After attending the Law Clerk program at Fleming College, I was looking to get my foot in the door at a Firm that would allow me to exercise my strengths in a challenging environment while allowing me to offer ideas and insight. I was given this chance in late 2015 when I received the call from WARDS LAWYERS PC. They were looking for a casual law clerk, working mostly in Personal Injury. The test run was successful and I was hired on full time in 2016. My first year at WARDS LAWYERS PC has proven to be a rewarding journey and I look forward to what the future holds with the Firm.

I grew up in Lindsay with two sisters in an athletic household, involved with hockey and baseball. My parents somehow survived the teenage years and gave me the team oriented values and competitive drive that have a huge impact on my working style. The heart and soul of WARDS LAWYERS PC is a family that shares the same intrinsic qualities. I am so grateful to have been welcomed to an environment that encourages excellence and innovation, while maintaining individuality and a sense of humour.

I have the privilege to be surrounded by knowledgeable lawyers and staff who are always willing to answer questions and take the time to simply ask about my day. We have access to the most current technology and resources to help our operations run smoothly and effectively. The result is a highly productive system that I’m proud to be a part of. I love coming to work and balancing the demands of our Personal Injury practice. I take pride in knowing that we are helping to make a difference in the lives of our clients.

Memorable Moment

While I had only been with the Firm for a few weeks, I was invited to attend the office Christmas party downtown Lindsay. The staff was so welcoming and spirited that I knew I had found the career path I had been looking for. Getting to know everyone in their relaxed state allowed conversations to flow and I had my first glimpse of the shared energy of this group. It is so important to me to work in an environment where I can be myself. The Christmas party was the moment where I felt an overwhelming sense of belonging with this group and I was (and continue to be) so excited to be a part of the evolving team of WARDS LAWYERS PC.
